Christiansen hints at interest in striker ahead of Ipswich

12th January 2018

Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen has hinted that he may be interested in signing a striker in the January transfer window.

The Whites' boss was speaking to the media as his side prepare to face Ipswich Town in the Sky Bet Championship this weekend.

The Whites go into the clash with Ipswich on the back of defeat against League Two Newport County in the FA Cup Third Round, but currently sit 6th in the Championship standings.

Speaking at his press conference, Christiansen stated that a striker "could be a possibility. But as I said, the market is very difficult right now.

"But of course, if he helps the team, of course."

Leeds have been linked with a move for Peterborough United forward Jack Marriott.

Marriott's brace helped Peterborough to an FA Cup upset over Aston Villa last weekend, taking his goal tally to an impressive 23 from 35 games this season.
