Hull FC 32 Castleford 24 - Connor's boot sees FC through
Hull FC are through to the Challenge Cup semi finals after a convincing 32-24 victory over the Castleford Tigers at the KCOM Stadium.
The holders got off to a fast start with tries from Carlos Tuimavave and Fetuli Talanoa giving them a 12-0 lead, before the Tigers levelled things up with Ben Roberts and Zak Hardaker scoring.
Hull went in to the break in front as Jake Connor added a penalty to his two conversions, and another penalty just after the break put them 16-12 up.
Castleford lead for the first time in the game soon after, with a second for Ben Roberts, but another pair of penalties was followed by a try for Mahe Fonua, to put the home side back in control, followed by a great team move ending in Jamie Shaul getting the fourth try for the Black and Whites.
Greg Minkin gave the visitors hope with a try in the corner, but trailing 32-24, it was too much for the Super League leaders to overcome, and Hull took another step closer to Wembley and retaining the Challenge Cup. .
