Wigan 18-4 Huddersfield: Giants lose at the DW
Huddersfield Giants were unable to secure victory at the DW Stadium as Wigan Warriors ran out 18-4 winners.
Jermaine McGillvary opened the scoring for Huddersfield, Danny Brough was unable to add the extras.
Shortly after, Wigan hit back but like their opponents, failed to add the conversion and the score was tied at 4-4.
A quiet first half saw chances at both ends, but the only other score of the opening 40 minutes came when the Warriors scored with minutes remaining, despite claims of offside from Huddersfield. The conversion put the hosts 10-4 up at the break.
Sam Powell added a penalty with ten minutes of the second half played to extend the lead to an eight-point advantage for the Warriors.
Sam Tomkins then scored on the final hooter to secure an 18-4 victory for Wigan in a low-scoring affair.
